COCIR Strengthens Leadership In eHealth With T-Systems As New Member

Today COCIR is happy to welcome T-Systems among its members. T-Systems, through its dedicated Public & Health sector, brings its expertise and competence in ICT infrastructure, computing centres and services to health providers. A subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, T-Systems is Germany's leading ICT service provider with over 40,000 employees and €11 billion turnover in 2008.

Ulrich Pluta, Head of eHealth Strategy and Business Development, T-Systems said “COCIR is the only European trade association covering eHealth at the European level. T-Systems sees eHealth and particularly telemedicine as an extremely promising discipline. We are very excited to come on board with COCIR to shape the future of eHealth”.

T-Systems was drawn to COCIR to benefit from the association’s focus on eHealth and particularly telemedicine where COCIR is leading industry efforts on developing a sustainable roadmap. COCIR’s profile is continuously evolving to include new & emerging technologies and innovative solutions.

Further recognition of COCIR's leadership and efforts in eHealth came from  IBM and iSoft who upgraded to full corporate membership this year, demonstrating a growing interest in the initiatives led by COCIR in this strategic and increasingly visible eHealth domain.
